Rules

Antakshari rules for two players

Antakshari is the song chain from every road trip and wedding: the letter your song ends on is the letter the next song has to start with. On Twine you sing over your own call, and Twine keeps the letter, the clock and the score. It's free.

Setup

How a round works

  1. The singer has 30 seconds. Sing a song on the letter and tap Sang it before the clock runs out, then tap the letter your song ended on.
  2. You can type the title too. If you do, it has to start on the letter, and it can't be a song already sung this match. Twine forgives the usual spellings, so Kal Ho Naa Ho and Kal Ho Na Ho are the same song.
  3. Your partner says whether it counts. If it does, you score a point and the letter your song ended on starts their song.
  4. Stuck? Pass. A pass, a song your partner says doesn't count, or 30 seconds without tapping Sang it scores nothing, and the letter stays as it was for your partner.
  5. Either way, the turn then goes to the other player.

Scoring and winning

Play it with your partner on Twine

Twine keeps the letter, the clock and the score, and checks the rules above. Get on a call with your partner, or sit together, and start singing.

Questions

Does Twine hear us sing?

No. Twine carries no sound. You sing on your own call, or sitting together, and the listener taps whether the song counts.

Which letter starts the next song?

The letter the last counted song ended on. A pass, or a song that doesn't count, leaves the letter as it was.

What about songs that end on Z, F, Q, W or X?

They swap the traditional way: Z sings as J, F as P, Q as K, W as V and X as S.

Can you sing the same song twice?

Not in the same match. If you type a title, Twine checks it against every song already counted, forgiving the usual spelling differences.

Is Antakshari free on Twine?

Yes. Antakshari is one of Twine's free games.
