Rules
Teen Patti rules for two players
Teen Patti is the three-card classic of Diwali card nights. On Twine it is for two and for points only: it is never played for money, and there is nothing to buy.
Setup
- One 52-card pack, no jokers. Aces are high.
- You each start the game with 100 points. A game is ten hands.
- Each hand, you both put 2 points into the pot and get three cards face down. You both start blind, without looking.
How a round works
- Players take turns, and who goes first swaps every hand. On your turn, if you're still blind you can look at your cards first; looking doesn't use up your turn.
- Chaal to stay in: a blind player pays the stake, a player who has seen their cards pays double the stake. The stake starts at 2.
- Raise to double the stake (up to 16), then pay at the new stake.
- Pack to fold: your opponent takes the pot.
- Ask for a show once someone has paid a chaal or a raise this hand. It costs one more chaal. Both hands are shown and the better hand takes the pot; on an exact tie, whoever asked for the show loses.
- If the pot reaches 100 points, the cards are shown automatically. An exact tie then splits the pot.
Scoring and winning
- Hands, best first: trail (three of a kind), pure sequence (three in a row, one suit), sequence, colour (three of one suit), pair, high card.
- A-K-Q is the highest sequence and A-2-3 the next. K-A-2 is not a sequence.
- Ties within a kind go by rank, from the top card down. Suits never break a tie.
- The game ends after ten hands, or as soon as one of you is out of points. Whoever has more points wins.

Questions
Is Teen Patti on Twine played for money?
No. It is points only: you each start with 100 points, and there is nothing to buy or cash in.
What beats what in Teen Patti?
Trail beats pure sequence, which beats sequence, then colour, then pair, then high card.
What is the difference between blind and seen?
A blind player hasn't looked at their cards and pays the stake to stay in. Once you've seen your cards, staying in costs double the stake.
Is A-2-3 a sequence?
Yes, it is the second-highest sequence after A-K-Q.
