Twine
Terms of Use
These terms are between you and ELAQ Limited ("we", "us"), which operates
Twine.
Last updated: 23 September 2026
1. ACCEPTING THESE TERMS
By using Twine you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please delete the app.
2. WHO CAN USE TWINE, AND ACCOUNTS
You must be at least 18 years old to use Twine, and you confirm it again when you switch on the After Dark games.
Playing apart, adding friends and pairing by Twine code need a Twine account, which you create with Sign in with Apple. Keep your Apple account secure; you are responsible for what is done with your Twine account. Only add people you know. You can remove a friend at any time, and unpair and block a partner from Chat. You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend accounts used to harass people or to break these terms.
3. WHAT TWINE IS
Twine is a collection of games and conversation prompts for two people. It is entertainment. It is not therapy, counselling, medical advice, or a substitute for professional help. Some decks touch on conflict, intimacy and difficult subjects. Use your judgement, and stop if a prompt is not right for you.
If you or your partner are struggling, please speak to a qualified professional or a local support service.
4. TWINE+ SUBSCRIPTIONS
Twine+ is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for continued access to Twine+ features in this app. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
5. REFUNDS
Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests go to Apple, not to us, through reportaproblem.apple.com.
6. YOUR CONTENT
Anything you write in Twine — messages, answers, stories, capsules — belongs to you. We do not claim any rights over it. In same-room mode it never leaves your devices. Between paired phones it is end-to-end encrypted and passes through our relay only as sealed bytes we cannot read. See the Privacy policy for the one exception: unpaired, code-based games.
7. VIDEO
The optional video window is provided as-is and depends on your connection.
Do not use it to record, screenshot or share your partner without their
knowledge, and do not use it to send anything to someone who has not
consented to receiving it.
8. ACCEPTABLE USE
Do not use Twine to harass, coerce or abuse another person. Do not attempt to interfere with the relay service, other people's sessions, or the app's purchase verification.
9. AVAILABILITY
We try to keep the relay running, but long-distance play depends on a network service that may be unavailable at times. Same-room and one-phone play work without it. We may change or discontinue features, though we will not remove something you paid for without offering a remedy.
10. LIABILITY
Twine is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. CHANGES
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
